This is an advanced course for students who wish to obtain advanced training in professional broadcast skills.  It is designed for upperclass students who have already completed at least one experience course (CO-286/386) as well as a variety of productioin courses.  Students will work in a professional broadcast environment and produce broadcast projects for radio or television, while also meeting with the Instructor on a regular basis.  Students will submit certification of hours on duty, a letter of recommendation from their station supervisor, an annotated bibliography and a 3-5 page reaction paper summarizing their learning experiences.

Prerequisites: CO-106, CO-236, CO-286, CO-386, Instructor permission.     

 

Policies and Procedures:

1.  Students must work at least 60 hours of broadcast shifts over the course     of the term.  Failure to attend assigned broadcast shifts or Instructor   meetings will be treated as absences and result in lower grades.

3.  Students will compile an annotated bibliography of readings from            journals, texts and magazines (minimum 12 entries, 3 pages). 

            4.  Students will submit certification for the shifts they work  (time sheets, log                                 copies or letter). 

            5.  Students will write a reaction paper, summarizing their learning experiences                               (3 to 5 pages). 

   6.  All students must arrange for their station supervisor to deliver an                           "Internship Evaluation Form" to the Instructor by the deadline.

   7.  Students must submit a Letter of Recommendation from their supervisor.

   8. Written assignments must be neatly typed.

   9. All forms and assignments are due in the Instructor's Office

                           No Later Than Last Day of Regular Classes.
